description Family Campground Open April-October Walcamp Outdoor Ministries and Retreat Center is a year-round outdoor ministry offering facilities and a variety of programs for youth and families, churches and other groups.  Located on 180 acres of forest and open fields on the Kishwaukee River in Kingston, IL, Walcamp is located about 70 miles west of Chicago and 15 miles north of DeKalb, IL.  Walcamp offers camps for children of all ages, special needs camps, a family campground and a variety of facilities for organizations, businesses and special events. Individuals and Families Walcamp Outdoor Ministries invites you and your family to come and have an experience to remember! Consider having a weekend outing, or hosting your next family reunion, church or company picnic, in Walcamp’s beautiful surroundings. Weekday Camping is Now Available Weekday camping is available in the Walcamp Family Campground. Please contact office@walcamp.org to register.
drivingDirection FROM THE NORTH: Take I-90 South to the Genoa Road Exit. Exit South (Left) onto Genoa Road. You will drive approximately 8-9 miles, cross railroad tracks and begin looking for Cherry Valley Rd. SMALL GREEN STREET SIGN! Cherry Valley goes only to the right. Turn Right (West) onto Cherry Valley Road. Turn Left (South) onto Five Points Road. (First street on left – can’t turn right.) Walcamp’s drive is secluded from this direction. It is approximately 1.5 miles down Five Points Road and marked by a white Walcamp sign on the right.  FROM CHICAGO/SUBURBS: Take I-90 West to the Route 47 Exit for Huntley / Woodstock (outlet mall on your right) Exit South (Turn Left) onto Route 47 Turn Right (West) onto Route 72 You will go through Hampshire and Genoa. Kingston is 3 miles West of Genoa. Once in Kingston, turn Right (North) at the one Main intersection — Five Points Road. Cross the railroad tracks, the river and Walcamp’s drive is the second on the left (next to KingstonPark). Follow the road around to the Lodge. FROM THE SOUTH: Take I-88 West to the Annie Glidden Road Exit (2nd DeKalb exit) Exit North on Annie Glidden. You will pass near to Northern Illinois University and drive approximately 12 miles. Turn Right (East) onto Route 72. (Second flashing red light/stop sign past DeKalb. Route 64 is the first one.) Turn Left (North) onto Five Points Road (the one Main intersection in Kingston.) Cross the railroad tracks and the river. Walcamp’s drive is the second one on the left (next to KingstonPark). Follow the road around to the Lodge.
